To:  All Greenbriar Women

We would like to take this opportunity to invite you all to join us!  We play every Thursday morning from May through September.  We offer both 18 and 9 hole tournaments every week with monthly luncheons in the Ballroom after golf on the 2nd Thursday of the month.

The OWGA provides an opportunity to meet other women golfers and engage in friendly competition.  If you’ve played in the past, we look forward to welcoming you again.  If you haven’t, we encourage you to join in the fun.  You can even sign-up to play with a friend on days when we’re playing a non-team event.   We strive to provide an environment that is welcoming to golfers of all skill levels.

We also want to remind you of the GAC Community Golf meeting on April 30th at 7:00pm.  We will be giving information out concerning our play and our schedule for  the first half of 2019 at this meeting.

You can also get this information by clicking on the link for our Community Web Site http://gocassociation.com/golf/ladies_day

We like to keep everyone informed by email, Beacon Articles and weekly Flyers of our upcoming tournaments and luncheons.  If you do play golf and don’t get our OWGA emails, please send your email address and name to me at owga2000@gmail.com .  If you’re currently getting our emails and no longer wish to, please let me know at the above address.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you on the course.

 Sincerely.

 Roe Tackas

Chair - OWGA

2019 SEASON GUIDELINES

  • No Dues will be collected – All women who are full or associate members of the Greenbriar Golf Club with a handicap are members of the OWGA  - All Ladies Day Events are open to all women members of the Greenbriar Oceanaire Golf Club with a handicap.  If you don’t currently have a handicap, please see the Pro Shop and they will help you get started.  Playing one time before the start of the season will give you a “Trending Handicap” – so in order to play in the Ladies Day Events beginning May 10th, you just need to play once and then check in with the Pro Shop and they will help you get that “Trending Handicap”.  The preseason Ladies Day Events scheduled for April 19th, April 26th and May 3rd can be used to create your “Trending Handicap”.
  • All activities – golf, nine & wine, luncheons – are on a pay as you go basis
  • All women will be able to switch back & forth from 9 hole to 18 hole play as long as handicap requirements are met.  The Pro Shop has assigned the following handicaps to be able to play:

    • 9 Holes – Any Handicap
  • Fees will be $7 per week for 18 Holers and $5 per week for 9 Holers.  $1 per person will be held for end of year prizes.  The remaining money will be distributed as prizes that week with separate pots for 18 versus 9 holers.  The number of winners & the amount will be determined by the number of participants and the Tournament format.
  • On extremely hot or Cart Path only days, the Tournament will be 9 Holes for all golfers (OWGA liaison & Golf Pro decision).  Players can play 18 Holes but only first 9 Holes will count for the tournament.
  • The Pro Shop has established the following maximum strokes for 9 Hole Individual Events:
    • Par 3 – 6 strokes
    • Par 4 – 10 strokes
    • Par 5 – 10 strokes
